For those of you just checking things out, please understand this blog will have some of my professional shots as well as many pictures of family and friends. It is intended to show my clients who I am, what I am all about, and what I have been up to recently. It isn't always going to show off my work, rather show off my family, of whom I am so very proud. If you want to check out my portfolio, please go to my website by clicking the “Web Site” link above.

I now have links to my older slideshows on the menu titled “Pages/Wedding Slideshow Page”. I can also be found on Facebook by searching for my name. Make sure you find this picture of me as there are several of us out there with the same name. I know I’m excited about the direction and speed my company is moving in. Thanks again to all of you, I couldn’t have done it without you. Enjoy!

Lily & Jack – 10 months old…already

Well they say that time flies when you’re having fun so it much be true. Our Lily & Jack are already 10 months old and moving quite well these days. Jack has gone from the military crawl to full out run-crawl. At least that’s the what I call it. Lily gets around as fast as she wants to also but not as fast as Jack. As a matter of fact Jack was caught at the top of the basement stairs the other day by a very surprised Daddy. Oh boy, they will have to start watching him now. Before you know it they both will be walking, well I think Jack will by-pass that and go straight into a run. Since I shot over 450 pictures yesterday I have really had any time to work on them so I thought I would just post a few so people who don’t have access to Facebook can see Jim and Jen’s adorable twins. Okay so I’m a little prejudice but who wouldn’t be with cutie pies like this. More will be coming I’m sure but for now here are just a few. Enjoy.

Jack doesn’t sit in one place too long.
Lily meets Lily of the Valley. Of course she wanted to eat it.This little girl has all the cute faces going on.Okay now Jack, Stay!Lily checking out her bracelet. Of course it ended up in the mouth too!Jack getting fresh with Grandma. One way to keep him in place is to hold him down. He likes it too.He is quite a bit taller than his twin sister Lily.Okay so how do I get this big thing in my mouth?Okay I will just be cute for the picture now.Just another one of those faces.Of course Jack wants the red one. Finally got them both looking. While Jack thinks his sister isn’t paying attention….…she tries to swipe Jacks flower. But not looking at Jack so he doesn’t know what’s going on.Jack likes his wagon.

Lots of drool too. He already has 6 teeth (Lily has none) and looks like more on their way soon.

The Wedding of Megan and Paul – the slideshow

On Saturday, April 28, 2012, my son John and I photographed the wedding of Megan and Paul at the Hope Chapel in Shelby Township. It was a nice day for a wedding even though the weather man predicted rain, it never happened so we were able to get some pictures outdoors before and after the wedding ceremony. Once the ceremony was over it was off to Cherry Creek for the reception. Cherry Creek is one of my favorite venues to shoot at. The entertainment for the evening was provided by Robert Navarre from Full Effect DJ Service. This was the second wedding in a row where the DJ was also an entertainer. Robert did a great job on the guitar as well as keeping the party rocking. Congratulations Megan and Paul. Enjoy the show!

Megan and Paul – getting to know you session, Stony Creek Metropark

On Sunday my wife and I met up with Megan and Paul to their engagement session photos. Their wedding is coming up very soon so we needed to get these done so we could get the signature book ordered in time for the wedding. Megan and Paul brought along their 6-month old puppy. I was surprised to hear the puppies name was Jim. I have only heard of a dog named James from an old customer of mine who lived in Russia, but never anyone here in the USA. Jim was full of energy and as a hunting dog he was ready to go when we hit the field. Their wedding will actually be my very next wedding later this month. Looking forward to working with them again. Enjoy!

Jennifer - Well done! Adorable little doggy! Fun story about he dogs name. What a cowinkidink

Lily & Jack | 6 months +

7/11/11 was such a special day for the Shields family as we welcomed Lily and Jack into this crazy world. So on Sunday our daughter-in-law, Jen, came over with Lily & Jack for some 6 month photos. Sure seems like it was yesterday I was doing the post of their birth and now it’s their 6 month pictures. It actually is a little past the 6 month date since they were born on 7/11/11, but with kids we all have to be flexible. Jim was working this day but he was able to come over after work and actually bring dinner with him. That was a nice surprise, and good too. Lily was in a very good mood for these pictures and Jack, well Jack was not so much but he was better once he had a little 30 minute nap. Here are just a few of my favorites.

Sheena & Matt | the slideshow

On Saturday, January 7, 2012, my son John and I photographed the wedding of Sheena and Matt at the Country Club of Detroit. We started our day off at the “Salon Awesome” in Plymouth where we had a chance to meet the girls, as well as Mom’s and Grandma. From there we were off to the Country Club for the ceremony and then we took a small detour to a Firehouse in Detroit to get some pictures of the bridal party with the fire trucks. Matt is actually a fireman in Westland but that wasn’t really an option to go all the way to Westland for those pictures so we opted for a Detroit location which was close to the Grosse Pointe War Memorial where the reception was to be held. Once at the War Memorial everyone settled in for some food, beverages and dancing. We would like to thank Sheena and Matt, along with their families, for making the day so enjoyable for us. Best of luck to the two of you.
