Merry Christmas 2008

Jim Shields Photography would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas 2008. This year was special for us as we celebrated Christmas with our first grandchild, Norah Grace. She was quite into the presents this year as you will see with the slideshow below. There were too many pictures to just show a couple so I put together a quick show so family from out of town can see our little celebration from this morning. It looks like there wasn’t anyone else at this party but the house was actually quite full, however my camera seemed to always be aimed at Princess Norah. Enjoy!

The Wedding of Danielle and Brandon

On Friday I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Danielle and Brandon at St. Louis Parish in Clinton Township, MI. You may recall that day as it was the biggest snow storm of the year so far with over 10″ of snow. It was a bit nerve-racking for me as I almost got stuck in my sub-division trying to get to the hotel where the girls were getting ready. I did make it and all went off as planned. The entertainment for the evening was provided by Tom Downey from Mike Staff Productions. Tom traveled all the way from Ypsilanti to do this wedding so I can’t really complain about my travels that day as I was only 1/2 mile from the Sterling Inn, where the reception was held. Congratulations to Danielle and Brandon and thanks for letting me be a part of your day.

The Wedding of Danielle and Peter

On December 6, 2008, I had the pleasure to shoot the wedding of Danielle and Peter at the beautiful St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Troy, MI, and the reception was at Petruzzello’s Banquet and Conference Center in Rochester, MI. The weather was cold and snowy but that didn’t stop this party from happening. Joe Frontera of the fantastic Music Box Productions, Inc. kept the party going. Music Box also provided the video services. Dustin Francis helped me shoot this wedding as a second photographer. Dustin is a fantastic photographer who is definitely on the fast track to making it big in this industry.

Thanks Danielle and Peter for allowing me to be such a large part of your special day. Hope you have a Very Merry Christmas and  a Happy New Year!

PS: Thanks for being so patient for this slideshow. My computer going down really put me behind. I got it back yesterday and have to return it again, as it is not right yet, but at least it is usable for now. When I get caught up then they can have it to fix it right.

Computer is Back – Or is it?

Well I did get my computer back today so I can do some editing that I’m behind with. However as I started checking things out closer I noticed the new video card they installed will not give me the resolution it is supposed to give me. I’m not a happy camper right now and will be back to the Apple store on Saturday, since I have to shoot a wedding tomorrow. This has been a real bad experience for me and I’m not thinking too high on MAC’s right now. I’m not giving this computer up until I’m caught up with my edits but Apple will sure hear of my displeasure with their service. I will have a slideshow up tomorrow of Danielle and Peters wedding. Sorry for the delay guys!

Hayley and Corey – Engagement Pictures

On Saturday my wife and I caught up with Hayley and Cory to take a few engagement pictures in downtown Royal Oak. It was sure cold but we got some nice images of the two of them. My MAC is still in the computer hospital but I forced myself to try to edit a couple of these on my PC. All I can say is I wouldn’t want to do large jobs like this but if it’s just a couple I will force myself. You will also notice they won’t look the same as when I do images on my MAC.
