The Wedding of Melissa and Ed…the slideshow

Well as you can see I’m quite far behind in my editing but wanted to get this slideshow posted on Thanksgiving so I could have one more thing to be thankful for. Just kidding, per my previous post I have too much to be thankful for to list here.

Melissa and Ed were married at St. John Lutheran Church in Fraser, Michigan on November 7, 2009. We started off up in St. Clair where the girls were having their hair and makeup done at Norbert Alexander Salon, and then on to Melissa’s Mom and Dad’s home to get dressed. Once the ceremony was over we headed to Belle Isle for some outside pictures before it got too dark outside. The wind didn’t cooperate very well so after being blown around on the island we decided to head over to the reception venue, the Detroit Yacht Club, to see if we could get shielded from the wind a little more and we did end up getting some nice pictures there. The entertainment for the evening was provided by Joe Luellen from Mike Staff Productions. What a great celebration with great people. Congratulations to Melissa and Ed. Enjoy the show.

Happy Thanksgiving from Jim Shields Photography

The Shields’ family would like to wish everyone a Very Happy Thanksgiving. In these troubled times in our state of Michigan I find myself thankful so so much that the blessings are too long to list in a blog post like this. Health and happiness is what I wish for all of you on this Thanksgiving 2009. I would hope you could find something to be thankful for on this holiday. And also, please don’t forget that there are service men and woman overseas who won’t have the luxury that you and I do to sit down with our families and enjoy each others company while feasting on our turkeys and mashed potatoes. Many thanks go out to all of them out there. May you all be safe and return home to your families soon.

Nathan & Jeremy…”out_standing” in the field

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing my two nephews, Nathan & Jeremy. We decided to go out in to the field we went to last year but this year we didn’t have any coyotes running around. Just some young girls watching and giggling as they ran off. Here are just a few of the images from that day. Enjoy!

The Wedding of Melissa & Ed

On Saturday, November 7, 2009, I photographed the wedding of Melissa and Ed at St. John Lutheran Church in Fraser, MI. Another Birthday Down!

I don’t think too many fathers have the same privilege I have every year. I get to share my birthday with my twin sons, Jim & John. It’s not often we can all get together, but we always try to find a way to pull it off, even if it isn’t exactly on the day. Here are a few pictures from our little celebration and a new picture of the whole family. There’s even a new little one hiding in this photo. Our little Norah Grace is going to have a cousin at around the same time as her second birthday next year. Our daughter Jessica (and Tone) is expecting in March of 2010. More blessings for us all.
