The Miracle of Baptism – Ethan John

THE BAPTISM
OF
Ethan John Wywierowski
Sunday, April 25, 2010

Yesterday we had the pleasure of witnessing our grandson, Ethan John Wywierowski’s Baptism. It was an awesome day spent with family and friends. Of course I was there with camera in hand to do all the documenting, as I’m supposed to do for my family. I remember one day after our son had our first grandchild, you may have heard of Princess Norah if you stop by here once in a while, that Norah would not be here if it wasn’t for us. It’s not bragging, just a fact. If we wouldn’t have married and had children then we wouldn’t have these two blessings in our life right now. Obviously our kids are also true blessings in our lives as well, but grandkids are different. Deb and I feel so very blessed that we have such a great family. Thanks everyone who attended yesterday. Here are a few images from the day. Enjoy

Dream BIG!

This morning I got up and was checking in with my peeps on Facebook and saw something by a friend of mine, Parker J. Pfister. Parker is an awesome photographer who lives down in the Carolina’s somewhere living the dream. It reminded me of a video I saw once with Parker where he explained that he often times just grabs his camera and goes out to shoot with nothing really in mind. It prompted me to get the camera in hand and do the same this morning. The title of the post is “Dream BIG” which is what I often find myself doing. You see last summer I photographed a wedding at a home in Birmingham that was on a lake and I couldn’t help but notice this home being worked on, which was on the other side of the lake. From what I hear it has been under construction for a few years now but I thought I would check it out again. It really hasn’t changed much from last year but I see a lot of trucks in the driveway so I’m assuming they are still working on it. I have to believe this is someones BIG Dream. And a nice one at that. I have to admit, while I love the location of this home it really wouldn’t work well for me. It’s way too close to the water and we would always be worrying about the kids coming over and going in the back yard. Besides, my home now would fit in the garage of this one, and I’m not sure I could afford the garage. Well anyways I won’t be checking on the price of this home for those reasons, (yea right). However I do believe in DREAMING and I believe you should DREAM big. Go ahead, give it a try, it won’t hurt you!

Ethan John Meets The Studio

Our little Ethan is only 14 days old today but is getting quite used to being photographed. I think all of my kids got some of my photo bug in them. If it wasn’t me it was someone else snapping away at him. It seems with Facebook and all of the social networking going on these days pictures are getting taken a lot more than before all that started. As a photographer I certainly don’t mind that photos are becoming so important to others.

Ethan was so good for his first photo shoot. I don’t think he cried once during any of it. Now Mommy did keep him fed, and while the screams weren’t flowing, other things were (if you know what I mean). That’s all the fun of taking pictures of babies though. I always tell the parents not to worry about that so when it happens it isn’t such a big deal. Unless someone has a 14 day old baby that can control himself then it shouldn’t surprise anyone that it will happen.

This was an emotional editing process for me of these images. As I looked at the pictures afterwards, and during the editing process, I realized, there was my baby girl looking into the eyes of her very own baby with only the love a mother could show. I’m sure I’m not the first photographer who felt so much emotion when that certain picture shows up on their editing screen. Now all I need is for Ethan’s Dad to get a little time off work so he can get in some pictures too. That’s what we’re pushing for next. While Tony was home for one week he had to return to work after his leave. In Michigan you don’t complain too much when you have to be at work, since so many people don’t have jobs. I am certainly one of the luckiest Dads around with all of my kids married and working in this area. That’s almost unheard of these days. Enjoy our little Ethan, we certainly do!
