The Wedding of Becky and Jeff…sneak preview

Thought I would post a few images from my wedding on Saturday night before I get the slideshow finished. The day started out pretty rainy but ended up very nice. Becky and Jeff live in Chicago and I did their engagement session at Yates Cider Mill in the fall of 2009. I remember wearing my “Michigan” sweatshirt that day and it wasn’t real popular with Becky, but Jeff loved it. So what we have here is a real mixed marriage, “Michigan State” vs. “Michigan”. After looking at the pictures below I think you will see who won that battle on Saturday night. Enjoy!

Dayna & Tim…the slideshow

I don’t even know where to start with this blog post. Dayna is a client, a friend and a fantastic graphic design artist who I have used for my brochures, business cards and letterhead designs. She is also a fellow BNI member but will be moving to South Bend, Indiana, so she will be joining a new group. If you have the need for a Graphic Designer check Dayna out by contacting me and I will give you her contact information. It is changing right now with her new name and all.

We started out our day at the Shine Salon & Spa in Sterling Heights and then moved to her house in Sterling Heights where the girls got dressed and ready for the big event which was held at Kensington Church in Troy, MI. After the awesome ceremony we were off to the Sterling Heights Nature Center for some pictures. Well they almost didn’t make it there as their limo broke down and they coasted into the parking lot. However, by the time we were done with pictures another limo had shown up to transport them to Villa Penna for the reception.

Video was shot by the awesome Jamie Honce from Jamie Honce Productions who I have had the pleasure of working with in the past. That’s one of the great things about my job, we get to work with so many awesome professionals, and Jamie does fantastic work. As a matter of fact Jamie did a “same day edit” at this wedding. As a photographer we don’t always understand video and all it takes to render the files to actually be usable. It is a lot of work and the presentation was a huge hit with the family. Great job Jamie and crew.

I want to thank Dayna and Tim for trusting me to document one of the most important days of their lives and you need to know that’s something I don’t take lightly. It was a pleasure to work with you and your families, who treated me as if I were one of you guys. My son John and I had a great time and wish you both the best of luck in your very bright futures. Congratulations again. Enjoy the show!

The Wedding of Dayna & Tim…a sneak peek

Thought I would just throw up a few images from Saturday’s wedding with Dayna and Tim since it will take me a little time to finish up the edit and get a slideshow posted. I picked a lot of photos from this wedding to edit so it might take me a little longer than usual, so this is why I am giving people a sneak peek. Dayna was such a stunning bride and it was a great day for a wedding and we all had so much fun. Both families were great to work with. The day flew by and it looked like everyone had a fantastic time. I also really enjoyed working again with Jamie Honce and his crew of film makers. They actually did a “same day edit” at this wedding which is an awesome thing to see if you haven’t yet. Enjoy.

Michele, Cody & Jacob…Family Photos

You may have seen Michele and Cody if you are a regular here is Jim Shields Photography BLOG. They were married last year and now they have a new addition to the family. Little Jacob was born April 24, 2010, and what a cutie pie he is. Michele has been pretty lucky with Cody having three weeks off work, but that’s about to end and Michele will be on her own during the day. She is probably pretty spoiled right now with all the help, but Jacob is a good baby so she isn’t expecting it to be too bad once Cody goes back to work. One of the things I always offer my brides is free infant pictures of their first born child. It’s so nice to see the brides again and see how happy they are once they start building their families. I guess it helps that I love taking pictures of newborns and children.

Well I have to get packed up for a wedding tomorrow. Maybe this one will lead to infant pictures too. Let’s hope!
