The Wedding of Lisa & Andrew…the slideshow

Last Friday I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Lisa and Andrew at Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Michigan. The rain held off until everyone was inside for the ceremony and then the rain came down in buckets. After the ceremony was over we had a power outage and I was forced to shoot the formal pictures in the dark. I have to admit I have never had to do that before but it all worked out great. The altar area has two windows on the sides that allowed a little light in to use for my background and my battery powered QFlash provided all the light I needed to get through the pictures. After the formal pictures were completed the rain had stopped and we were able to go to a location that Lisa and Andrew had scoped out a few days before the wedding. It was a great location with an old building and truck and the corn field was also a great spot for some pictures. The timing of all of this was incredible. Once we were finished shooting the outdoor pictures we started driving to the reception and the rain came down again in buckets. I think Someone was really looking out for Lisa and Andrew that day. Which doesn’t surprise me now that I know their families better. It was an awesome day with an awesome couple. Enjoy the show!

The Wedding of Lisa & Andrew…the sneak peek

Saturday was a great day for a wedding. Storms and power outages wasn’t going to stop Lisa & Andrew from celebrating their big day. The day was filled with laughter and celebration with two great families. This was definitely a long distance relationship with Lisa living in England and Andrew living in the USA. Well they are together today and probably lying on the beach in Hawaii by now. Here is just a sneak peek before I post their slideshow later in the week. Enjoy!

Prince Ethan John…4 months old already

Prince Ethan made an appearance in the studio for his 4-month pictures. Where did those four months go??? I’m pretty sure that Ethan will be quite used to the camera in no time at all. I already think I see him doing a little posing for me. My kids grew up in front of the camera and now they know exactly what to do when the camera is pointed their way. Our Ethan and Norah will be the same, that’s for sure. Here’s just a few of the pictures we took. Enjoy!

The Wedding of Lindsay & Stephen…the slideshow

On July 4th I had the privilege of shooting the wedding of Lindsay and Stephen at the beautiful Addison Oaks. I had done Lindsay and Stephen’s engagement photos last Fall at Yates Cider Mill and then I shot her Mom’s wedding ceremony at their home in Birmingham. It was a very hot day but what a fun filled day it was for everyone. I absolutely love it when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony. That way everyone has calmed down and we get most of the family pictures finished before the big party begins. It really does work out well but most people still believe they shouldn’t see each other before the ceremony. Oh well, that’s why I love this business, everyone’s different.

John and I had a GREAT time with Lindsay and Stephen and their families who welcomed us as we were their own. This is also the first time I had shot an outdoor wedding at Addison Oaks and they did a marvelous job of all the details. Usually when I shoot their it’s just the reception and the food is the best around. Something about the Oak Management System that has things down to a science. The Event Designer was Lindsey Nartker from New Creations L.L.C. and everything looked awesome.

Congratulations and best of luck to your very bright future Mrs. Lindsay, and the future Dr. Stephen Berger. Enjoy the show!

Canadian Lakes 2010..a little R & R

We just returned from Canadian Lakes for our semi-annual trek for some fun in the sun. Many thanks for all who put off the July 4th celebration until this past weekend so I could attend too. I was quite busy on the holiday weekend shooting weddings. Their was quite a wipeout on the tube this year and since no one was hurt too bad I thought I would use a slideshow for that sequence of shots. My camera is quite capable of locking on to a subject with a very high rate of frames per second. I just happened to be locked on for this sequence so you will see it’s lucky no one was hurt too badly. Poor Alex took a good shot to the stomach and was sore afterwards, which you will see on one of the images as he hits the water at a high rate of speed. And I think we instructed David to actually let go of the tube next time. A great time was had by all and we returned on Sunday to attend the funeral of my wife’s Aunt Jeanette. She will be missed but we all know she is in a better place now.
