A BIG Thanks To Everyone Who Voted

Today I found out that I finished 5th in the “Vote for the Best” contest for 2010 in the Wedding Photographer category. I personally know three of the four photographers who finished ahead of me and truly believe they deserve their honor. I want to thank everyone who voted this year and feel so blessed to have such great friends and clients. I could not do this without any of you. Being able to do what I love to do for a living is a dream come true so all I can say is never give up on your dreams, they do come true when the time is right. The Wedding of Jen & Adam…the slideshow

On Friday, September 3, 2010, I had the privilege of photographing the special day of Jen and Adam. It was an awesome day for a wedding with some threats of rain in the morning but everything was clear for pictures in the afternoon, just the way we planned it. Jen and Adam decided to see each other before their ceremony which makes it so nice for pictures as I have lots of time of the two of them together. Some weddings are very hurried with pictures after the ceremony, especially if there is a lot of traveling from location to location. Unfortunately when we spend a lot of time in the car traveling we don’t have so much time to get the shots we would like to get. You may notice the old english “D” in a lot of these photos as Jen and Adam are big Detroit Tigers fans. As a matter of fact they had a special visitor to their reception. Jen’s parents surprised them with a visit from Paws (The Tiger Mascot). Everyone had a great time, including myself. Enjoy the slideshow.

Canadian Lakes 2010 – a little R & R

Over the holiday weekend we were able to spend a few days up at my brother-in-law and sister-in-laws place at Canadian Lakes for a little R & R. I had every intention of bringing my computer to get some editing done but in my hurry to get out the door on Saturday morning I forgot the computer. I had worked a wedding the night before till very late and my wife was already at the lake so it was up to me to get out the door with everything I was supposed to bring on my own. Guess that didn’t work out too well but I didn’t forget much more than my computer. I think that was Somebodies clue to leave it home and relax. Oh well, I would have worked too much as the weather was not so good. The pictures below of the sunset have no enhancements at all. That is exactly how it looked for only about 5-10 minutes. It was breathtaking. I think I posted a picture on Facebook taken with my cell phone but it didn’t do the scene I was seeing any justice at all. It was a great time to spend with family. Moments like that can never be taken away so you have to grab them while you can.

The Wedding of Meghan and Christopher…the slideshow

On Saturday, August 21, 2010, I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Meghan and Christopher on their big day. I met Meghan and Chris at Chris’s sister Stephanie’s wedding lat year and I got to know them a lot better when my wife and I met them in Marysville for their “Getting to Know You” session. I love doing those sessions as it really helps me to get to know the couples better before their big day. What I found out was that Meghan and Chris love to have fun, and with each other. Their wedding ceremony was held in the rain at Greystone Golf Club. A little rain wasn’t going to stop anybody from having a great time for this wedding party. In my sneak peek photos I did mention that I considered this wedding a wedding and a “trash the dress” session wrapped up in one. You will notice a lot of umbrellas in the photos of the ceremony but it did stop for our photos after the ceremony at an Uncles farm land with some big John Deere tractors. The video was done by Alex Bitoff from 5th and Main Videography and the entertainment was provided by the band “Chateau“. Enjoy the show.

The Wedding of Jen & Adam…the sneak peek

Last Friday I photographed the wedding of a couple of big time Tiger fans, Jen and Adam. The day started off a little questionable with rain in the morning but everything cleared up for our trip to downtown Detroit and Belle Isle for a few pictures. The wind was really howling on Belle Isle but we were still able to get a few pictures before heading off to the hall for the reception. Here is just a sneak peek of their big day. Enjoy!
