The Lingenfelter Collection – Brighton, Michigan

Yesterday I had the privilege of touring one of the most awesome private collections of automobiles I believe exists today, the “Lingefelter Collection”, in Brighton, Michigan. This is a private collection owned by Ken Lingenfelter who started out in the Title business and he owns all of the vehicles in this collection himself. I won’t try to explain all about this collection myself but rather give you a link to check it out on the Lingenfelter website. Click HERE for the actual story of how this collection got started.

My sons father-in-law, Conrad, won a silent auction to tour the exhibition with his friends and family and I was lucky enough to get the call too. I have to admit I wasn’t too fired up about checking out a couple cars but this is far beyond that. I can’t even imagine walking out into the garage and trying to choose the car I would like to drive on that day. I think I dreamt about that scenario once when the lottery was around 200 million, of course I didn’t have a ticket but the dream was still fun. With well over 100 to choose from it would be too overwhelming for me to make that daily decision. I had just gone to the Detroit Auto show  a few days earlier and thought it was pretty nice but this collection was far better to see up close and personal. All I can say after seeing this is WOW! I think it’s every mans dream to just have one or two of these cars, much less well over 100. I’m sure glad I was able to take pictures of this also so I can continue dreaming. Happy New Year – 1.1.11

My first photo shoot of 2011 was our very own Prince Ethan who is really getting quite used to being in front of the camera. As soon as I point it at him these days he breaks into a big smile and squints his eyes. So cute. Here is a photo of Prince Ethan for his 9 month photo shoot wishing everyone a Very Happy New Year. I just had to post this one. He is just so stinkin cute I can’t stand it. 2011 will be a very exciting time for Jim Shields Photography. Come along for the ride. It’s going to be fun.
