Well I’m not too sure how to start out this post. Other than the obvious CONGRATULATIONS to the two graduates, Elizabeth and Justin. But this day has been coming for so long for Liz (that’s what we call her) that I just don’t think that a simple CONGRATULATIONS cuts it. For those of you who know Elizabeth know that this was just another goal she set for herself a long time ago, and when she goes for something, she always achieves it. I remember a few years ago she was determined to run a marathon, so the training began and she finished in a reputable time. From early on in grade school her grades were always all “A’s”. And if she got an “A” and felt like she deserved and “A+”, she would fight for it and win. Her determination has always been very strong and the fighting for a better grade continued through all of her education. That determination also earned her the Valedictorian Honor from Anchor Bay High School and a scholarship for her first four years of college at Wayne State. So how does Liz top that one, well after her first fours years of tuition free college, she was then awarded another tuition free four years to Medical School. I’m told that doesn’t happen very often but it didn’t surprise any of us. Justin and Liz have just returned from a six week tour of India to work, and a little play. Now they are both off to University of Washington Affiliated Hospitals, in Seattle, Washington. Liz is going into Family Medicine and Justin is going into Emergency Medicine. Sometimes I get the idea that most people feel Doctors have a great life. But as hard as they worked to get to where they are, it will be just as hard in the real world. So as the commencement speaker at the graduation on Tuesday indicated, their jobs now are to go and “SAVE THE WORLD”. It won’t be easy but as challenged as they have been to get here, they are ready to go do just that. We love you Liz, and will miss you while you’re gone. Good luck to you both.
Wow, I wouldn’t even mind being in the hospital if this was my Doctor.
Beautiful inside and out.
Off to Seattle!
Curt with Liz and the Proud Mom!

And then there’s Grandma Decker.
And the famous Aunt Debbie!

Off to “Save the World”
Uh…huh!

I think Mom is happy for her baby girl!

Struttin…

Liz asked me take this one.

Love this picture.
Mom (Diane) made her speech short and sweet so the kleenex didn’t have to be used. But I’m sure it was anyways.
