The Wedding of Megan and Matt | the slideshow

On Friday, July 20, 2012, we had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Megan and Matt. Megan and Matt have been separated by a long distance with this relationship and now they are together at last. I had just saw Megan at a wedding a few weeks prior to this wedding and Matt couldn’t make it in town since he would be coming home for his wedding day in a few weeks. It turned out to be a wonderful day for a wedding. The ceremony and reception was held at the awesome Inn at St. Johns, in Plymouth, Michigan. This is one of my favorite venues for sure. The entertainment for the reception was provided by Pro DJ Services. This was a fun wedding party to work with and their families treated us like their own. This is an exciting time for Megan and Matt as they start their new lives together as husband and wife. Good luck to the both of you on your future together. Enjoy the show!

Jack and Lily | outdoor one year birthday party

On Saturday, July 21, 2012, we celebrated the birth of our Jack and Lily who actually turned one on 7/11. It was a great time with friends, neighbors and relatives, all coming together to celebrate the birth of our twin grandchildren, Jack and Lily. It was a great day for a party with home brewed beer by Jim and all the fixings, also prepared by Jim. The birthday cakes were made by Lauri, our daughter in law, and Jack and Lily sure enjoyed digging into them by the looks of the pictures. Deb and I are so blessed to be able to have all of our children, and grandchildren, close to us so we can see them often. That’s not something that is too normal these days as once kids go to school and complete their studies, then they are off to get a job, and unfortunately that usually isn’t in Michigan. I know this by my business also as a photographer who has about 50% of brides living in different states now, although they were born and raised here. I think our family is so close that that wasn’t going to be an option for our kids. If they told us they were going to move they would have to deal with some very upset parents that’s for sure. So here is the birthday party of Jack and Lily. Next up, in a few weeks, our next little one, Elyse’s first birthday party. Enjoy!

The Wedding of Leslie and Greg | the slideshow

On Saturday, June 30, 2012, my son John and I photographed the wedding of Leslie and Greg at the Pine Knob Mansion in Clarkston, Michigan. It was a super hot day but the breeze was blowing and the temperatures did not seem as unbearable as they were during the week. The day before this wedding hit a record for our area with highs over 100 degrees. We spent a lot of time with the girls on this wedding at various salons before arriving at the Mansion to get ready for the ceremony, which took place at 6:00PM. Leslie and Greg and their wedding party were so nice to work with during this event. We wish them the best of luck in their future together as man and wife. Enjoy.

Jack & Lily | one year old

So here we are one year after our Jack and Lily were born and we are wondering, where did the time go. Yes it was one year ago we were all just sitting around waiting for these two bundles to arrive. I can remember how uncomfortable Jen was during that time. But it has gone by fast and everyone has survived the first year. Maybe a little sleep deprived still but things are starting to settle down even though now they are getting around quite well and you can’t take you eye off of them for a second. But that’s what being a parent is all about. Yes we all love them to pieces but keeping them safe is the most important. We haven’t had their first birthday party yet but we did do these pictures with their first little birthday cakes and that was fun. I love the patriotic theme for the cakes too, it made the pictures that much more colorful. When Jen and Jim arrived at our house for these pictures they brought in a huge tub filled with all kinds of STUFF. That STUFF was all used for these pictures and was pretty much from one end of the studio to the other when we were done. They were actually afraid that Lily wouldn’t cooperate too much as she had not had her nap that she needed. However everyone was good and only had a few meltdowns (and that was Jim and Jen, LOL). When we put them in the car to go home Lily was asleep before they Jim and Jen got in and they all slept when they got home. Oh well, our little Elyse (Jack and Lily’s cousin) is up next. She is one month after Jack and Lily. Having grandchildren is an awesome job. Especially when you can create lasting memories with the ones you love. You get to take the pictures and spend time with family. It doesn’t get any better than that. Enjoy!
